ASL sponsors Southport fundraiser
Office service supplier ASL donated £1,000 to the Southport Learning Trust fundraiser. The company sponsored the Southport Learning Trust’s fundraiser to purchase t-shirts for Bedford Primary School’s #kNOwknifecrime campaign. The fundraiser, which was a relay run, aimed to educate the community on the dangers of knife crime and raise funds to purchase bleed kits that could be used in the event of someone being stabbed. All schools in the trust took part in the run, and used one of the bleed kits they were raising money for as the baton. The schools in the trust are Bedford Primary School, Birkdale High School, Greenbank High School, Kew Woods Primary School, Maghull High School, Meols Cop High School and Stanley High School. The trust’s ambition is for the kits to be hosted by retailers and public venues in the community, especially in places where young people may be vulnerable or gather in larger numbers. The event successfully raised an impressive amount of £5,281. Ian Raikes, CEO at Southport Learning Trust, said: “We would like to thank our partners ASL for once again sponsoring our #kNOwknifecrime event and the t-shirts we ran in on the day linking all our schools in the trust. “Our joint efforts raised over £5000, which will ensure bleed kits and boxes are prominent in our communities, in the event of a stabbing, which could ultimately save a life.” ASL, title sponsors of the Educate Awards, offers a wide range of print related services for schools, colleges, and universities to help them manage their printing systems in a financially astute and environmental way. It is also one of the top three suppliers of managed print in the UK, with 30 years of experience and with over 30% of its 21,000 machines located in the education sector.
