St Julie’s students are going places!

Sixth form students at St Julie’s Catholic High School in Woolton are spreading their wings with increased diversity in their destinations in terms of both course choices and geographic location, despite national economic nervousness.

Leavers in 2022 took up places across the UK. Students enrolled in courses at the Universities of Edinburgh and Strathclyde in Scotland, Queen’s University Belfast in Northern Ireland, and Bangor University in North Wales, alongside a host of institutions across England.

Course choices showed diversification too, with established choices sitting alongside courses such as children’s learning and development, pharmaceutical and cosmetic science, environmental science and quantity surveying.

Tim Alderman, headteacher at St Julie’s, said: “We’ve long enjoyed very strong progression routes to students’ first choice destinations, and this success has helped our students to be bold in both their destination and course choices.

“Our work across the school in building resilience gives students the confidence to make the journey away from their home town which many students across Liverpool can often seem reluctant to do, particularly in this year of economic uncertainty, and it’s great to see our students studying across the home nations.”

Tim added: “I believe that it’s our strong careers support that is the catalyst for the breadth of courses that students are progressing to. With the latest information about labour market information always available to them our post 16 students have all the tools and support they need to achieve their career aspirations.”

2023 applications for St Julie’s Sixth Form are now open.
