Series of new appointments at Abbot’s Lea School

A specialist school in Woolton is continuing to strengthen its leadership and management, as well as its teaching, therapeutic, and support teams with the appointment of 21 new members of staff, since September 2022.

Amongst the new starters at Abbot’s Lea School is Olivia Izzo, a full-time child psychotherapist who offers vital support to students and families.

Abbot’s Lea School’s new Positive Behaviour Support Hub is led by the newly appointed leader, Claire Welch, who, in turn, line manages a team of six new Positive Behaviour Support Assistants, four of which are new members of staff. More details about the hub can be found on page 16.

In addition, Andrew Brown and Sarah Woodward have joined the school as class teachers. Andrew teaches Key Stage 4 students, whilst Sarah teachers within Key Stage 5.

Nine new teaching assistants and two higher level teaching assistants will also work throughout the primary and secondary departments of the school.

As part of the wider team, Sharon Heller has been appointed as safeguarding assistant, while Jan

Ennis has taken on the role of executive assistant and clerk to the governing body.
