LCR Employers’ Network help young people find their next step

It has been a busy year since LCR Careers’ Hub launched the Liverpool City Region Employers’ Network, in partnership with All About Futures. More than 172 employees have signed up from over 110 employers across the region to support local young people to experience the world of work. It bridges the gap between education and employment, helps young people to understand the careers landscape and develops stronger stakeholder engagement. There are key benefits to businesses too, from personal development for staff, to identifying and retaining the best talent for the future. It also offers employers the chance to network and identify opportunities to provide meaningful programmes to showcase skills and career pathways. Since the launch in October 2022, there have been regular quarterly meetings and masterclasses discussing a range of topics and opportunities for employers e.g. inclusion, outreach and engagement. Michelle Dow, managing director of All About Futures, said: “It’s been a phenomenal first year for the Employers Network - there are so many amazing employers who want to engage with our schools and colleges and inspire the next generation. “Employers are keen to enthuse our young people, but they have questions and need information or ideas and that’s where we can offer support.
