There have been deer at Lyme Park for over 600 years and their presence is an important part of the estate’s history. October is rutting season, meaning you may be able to witness some stags engaging in a series of interesting behaviours in-order to show off their dominance – perhaps you’ll see who the true ‘king of the forest’ is!
